The Story

Gishubi Hill is located in close proximity to the Kibira Forest, an indigenous forest that envelopes the area in cool mist. This unique micro-climate contributes to the distinctive flavor profile of Gishubi coffee, as the cherries grow and mature at a slower pace. Unfortunately, the hill's location has also made it a target for armed groups during times of conflict. This has resulted in farmers having to abandon their fields and children being unable to attend school, as armed groups forcefully collect possessions, crops, and livestock.
